My doc once told me that it was contained by the works to go generic and I be just curious if anyone know when that would happen.Does anyone know when the anti-depressant/anxiety med. Lexapro will be in motion generic?
Sadly, Forest Labs (brand term makers of lexapro) are war with Teva (the would-be maker of a generic version), so, the answer is "not for a few years."
The FDA has granted final approval for Teva Pharmaceuticals to flea market a copycat version of Forest Laboratories' Lexapro, expected to launch contained by 2009. Forest's US revenues are set to take a big hit once this generic arrives, although, luckily for Forest contained by the short-term at least, Teva is unlikely to triumph surrounded by its litigation to challenge Lexapro's official document and launch a generic before 2009.

The problem near alot of these drugs is the company who creates them has a lock on the formulary for 10 years earlier it can become a generic. They can also extend that period by making slight change to the composition and re-registering it. I honestly don't see it coming out any time soon.
