I believe one should be themselves, and that a persons self is the way they should be.
I hold a friend who I used to work with, she's much elder and pretty much a mother figure. Everyone know's her to be thoroughly blunt, and a lot of individuals who we worked with call her a ***** because of her at times overly bossy, blunt nature, but she have been pious to me. I'm shy and lacking contained by confidence, I'm polite and loyal, but she told me I needed to change my person as such so that I was more pushy, but that's not my identity. My personality is what I be born with, and what's wrong next to being modest? I must own that when she used to give me her direction I felt hurt and frail.Don't you revulsion it when relatives narrate you to shift your identity?
There's definitely zilch wrong with individual modest, I don't see anything wrong with it. I also am a strong believer surrounded by being yourself, and I see empire who are more modest as being polite, not as man pushed around. Never change. Modest is righteous.
This is almost impossible to do. The way you achievement and talk involves adjectives of your upbringing since you were a babe-in-arms. You can't just deprogram yourself, put contained by a new card or chip and presto, you're reprogrammed.

It sounds close to your co-worker is telling you to be more push because that is to say what works for her. You shouldn't have to variation your personality to suit anyone. If however you find that you are repeatedly in situations where on earth you are bullied remember that you can be assertive and stand up for yourself without person push or rude. There is a balance.
