Does the substance foul language run on Axis I or III for diagnostic evaluation?
I believe that substance abuse-such as alcohol abuse-would be listed beneath Axis I-clinical disorder as the focus of attention.
But the general medical condition-alcoholism or liver disease-that is artificial by the Axis I code, is listed below Axis III-general medical conditions.
Axis I
Axis III is for general medical conditions such as allergies, diabetes, etc.
