Do these "overqualified" therapist exist?

Consider someone who has be to medical school- specialised in psychiatry and afterwards gets a doctor point in psychology and specializes too! (or the other style round) Wow. would that be a perfect mix? Ok, they wouldn't be the youngest nation around. But do they exist?

Are there interdiscplinary field between psychology and psychiatry? If not-why not?Do these "overqualified" therapist exist?

They do but they are RARE. Like Dr. Breggin on this web site who is a Psychiatrist, too.
Most don't because its a lucrative trade to be a psychiatrist in this sunshine and age.
psychology=can talk to you going on for mental illness just
psychiatry=can do this as well as prescribe medication for you
Psychologists are actively seeking prescription privileges, and own been successful within 2 states (LA and NM, if I'm not mistaken).
Yes. Maybe. They are old. Yes again. Why do you want to know? IMO> Psych. Docs are an strange breed of person. Consider sensibly before going into this corral.
